This section defines the terms and conditions of Service Providers (“Suppliers”, ) collaborating with Island Cove Mauritius (“We, “Our”, Us”) and the services we offer.

1. General Conditions and Disclaimers

1.1 The transportation service is provided by third-party service providers who operate independently from Island Cove Mauritius. Transportation is offered by Island Cove Mauritius solely as an additional service to facilitate client logistics. These providers operate autonomously and are not owned, managed, or controlled by Island Cove Mauritius. By booking transportation through Island Cove Mauritius, the Client acknowledges that the transport contract exists directly between the Client and the third-party provider.

1.2 The transportation service is distinct from and independent of any activity, excursion, or attraction booked through Island Cove Mauritius. Accordingly, in the event of a cancellation, delay, or issue with transportation services, the Client remains fully liable for any activities, packages, or services booked, and applicable cancellation or no-show penalties shall still apply.

1.3 In the event of any issue or complaint related to the transportation service or overall experience, the Client must submit a formal written complaint to Island Cove Mauritius within five (5) working days following the scheduled activity date. Complaints received after this period may not be eligible for review. A response will be provided within a reasonable timeframe.

1.4 Island Cove Mauritius and its transportation partners shall not be liable for delays due to causes beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to traffic congestion, road closures, or entry delays at the activity site. Where delays occur, Clients may be asked to modify their itinerary or pay additional waiting fees directly to the driver.

1.5 Clients are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and detailed information at the time of booking. This includes, but is not limited to, the full and exact pick-up address, the total number of passengers, any special requirements, such as the need for child safety seats or accommodations for passengers with mobility limitations, and contact details. Island Cove Mauritius shall not be held liable for any delay, disruption, or failure in service resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or missing information provided by the Client.

1.6 Island Cove Mauritius shall not be held responsible for any personal belongings lost or left behind in vehicles. Clients are responsible for collecting all personal items before exiting the vehicle.

2. Substitute Vehicles and Drivers

2.1 Island Cove Mauritius will make reasonable efforts to provide the specific vehicle and driver confirmed at the time of booking. However, in the event of unavailability due to operational issues, maintenance requirements, or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to assign a substitute vehicle of equivalent or greater seating capacity and comparable quality. A different driver may also be assigned where necessary.

2.2 Clients will be informed of any changes to the assigned vehicle or driver as soon as reasonably practicable.

2.3 Clients may not demand a specific vehicle or driver unless such a request was explicitly confirmed in writing by Island Cove Mauritius at the time of booking.

3. Child Safety and Special Needs

3.1 Clients requiring child safety seats must request them at the time of booking. Availability is limited and cannot be guaranteed without prior confirmation. An additional fee may apply for the provision of child seats. Island Cove Mauritius shall not be held liable for any inconvenience or non-compliance resulting from failure to confirm child seat availability in advance.

3.2 Clients with specific mobility or accessibility needs must inform Island Cove Mauritius during the booking process. While we will make reasonable efforts to provide appropriately adapted vehicles, such accommodations are subject to availability and are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing in advance.

3.3 It is the Client’s responsibility to disclose all relevant child safety or accessibility requirements during booking. Failure to do so may result in service limitations or refusal of service without refund or liability.

4. Fare Calculation & Driver Payment Terms

4.1 For transportation not included as part of the tour, the transportation fare is calculated based on the set duration of the activity, the distance between your accommodation and the activity location, including the return journey. A surplus of 1 hour transportation after your activity ending time is permitted. Beyond this period, a disturbance fee of Rs 600 per hour, calculated on a pro-rata basis, shall apply and must be paid directly to the Driver.

4.2 For transportation not included as part of the tour, the payment for transportation is divided into two parts:

  • “Deposit”: Payable at the time of booking, alongside your tour reservation. This deposit covers a portion of the total transportation fare.
  • “Amount Due to Driver”: The remaining balance is payable in cash directly to the driver on the day of the activity. This final amount is calculated by subtracting the deposit from the total transportation cost.

4.3 The amount payable will be clearly specified on the voucher issued by Island Cove Mauritius following the confirmation of your booking.

4.4 The transportation fare will be displayed in three currencies: Mauritian Rupees (MUR), Euros (EUR), and United States Dollars (USD). Payment may be made in any of the listed currencies, subject to mutual agreement between the Client and the Driver.

4.5 Payment to drivers is accepted in cash only.

4.6 Exchange rates for non-MUR payments are determined based on prevailing local market rates and may differ slightly from online reference rates due to rounding and cash handling.

5. Client Delays & Service Interruptions

5.1 Clients must be ready at the designated pick-up location at the time specified in their booking confirmation. Failure to be present at the agreed time may result in delays, surcharges, or loss of service without refund.

5.2 A grace period of thirty (30) minutes from the scheduled drop-off time is permitted. Beyond this period, a disturbance fee of Rs 600 per hour, calculated on a pro-rata basis, shall apply and must be paid directly to the Driver. This fee shall not apply where the delay results from unforeseen circumstances beyond the Client’s control, such as significant traffic disruptions or natural events (e.g., heavy rainfall, flooding, or cyclones).

5.3 In the event that an activity is canceled or interrupted mid-way due to force majeure, including adverse weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances occurring after pick-up, the Client shall remain liable for a disturbance fee of Rs 2000, payable directly to the Driver. Please note that the transport deposit paid at the time of booking remains non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation or interruption.

5.4 In the event the Client fails to appear at the scheduled pick-up location without prior notice, the service shall be considered a “No Show.” No refunds will be issued, and a 100% cancellation fee shall apply. The full transportation fare will be deducted from the total amount already paid by the Client at the time of booking, which includes the activity payment and transportation deposit.

5.5 Any request to modify the agreed route or itinerary (e.g., additional stops, detours, extended waiting time) must be approved by the Driver and may incur additional charges, payable directly by the Client.

5.6 Clients must conduct themselves in a respectful and safe manner during transport. Drivers reserve the right to refuse service or terminate the trip without refund in cases of inappropriate, abusive, or unsafe behavior, including intoxication.

6. Cancellation by Clients

6.1 Clients may cancel confirmed transportation services subject to the following terms:

a. Cancellation of an Open Voucher (i.e transportation not yet reserved for a specific date):

A 25% cancellation fee will be deducted from the transportation deposit, to cover processing and administrative costs.

b. Cancellation of transportation reserved for a specific date:

This applies to transportation services reserved either:

  • as part of the initial order process, or
  • after converting an open voucher into a dated reservation.

In both cases, if the cancellation is made less than fifteen (15) days prior to the scheduled activity date, a 100% cancellation fee will be charged on the transportation deposit (i.e., 25% of the total transportation cost).

6.2 Notice of cancellation must be submitted by email to info@islandcovemu.com before 15:00 (GMT+4, local time) on a working day. Cancellations received after 15:00 will be considered the next business day.

6.3 Cancellations communicated through live chat, phone, SMS, or third parties will not be considered as valid notice.

7. Cancellation by Island Cove Mauritius

7.1 In the unlikely event that Island Cove Mauritius cancels a transportation service after confirmation, the Client will be offered an equivalent alternative transportation arrangement. Should the Client decline the offered alternative, Island Cove Mauritius will refund 100% of the deposit amount paid for the transportation service.

7.2 Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@islandcovemu.com within twenty-eight (28) calendar days from the date of cancellation. Requests submitted via any other medium will not be considered.

7.3 In the event that the assigned Driver fails to arrive at the scheduled time without prior notice, the Client must immediately contact Island Cove Mauritius. Every reasonable effort will be made to arrange a substitute vehicle. Refunds will only be issued if no suitable alternative can be arranged.

8. Client Responsibility for Damage and Cleanliness

8.1 Clients are liable for any damage to the vehicle resulting from their actions, negligence, or misconduct, including that of any accompanying passengers.

8.2 An extra cleaning fee will be charged in cases of excessive soiling of the vehicle’s interior, requiring more than routine cleaning. This includes, but is not limited to: vomit, food or drink spillage, mud, sand, or any other substances that may cause staining or odor. The fee amount will be reasonably determined based on the extent of cleaning required.

8.3 Consumption of food and beverages (other than bottled water), and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the vehicle unless explicitly permitted by the driver. Failure to comply may result in penalties or termination of service without refund.

8.4 Clients must behave in a respectful, non-disruptive, and lawful manner during the journey. Abusive, aggressive, intoxicated, or unsafe conduct may result in refusal or immediate termination of service without refund. The driver reserves the right to stop the vehicle and request the client to disembark if safety or order is compromised.

9. Right of Refusal

9.1 Island Cove Mauritius reserves the right to refuse any transportation booking at its sole discretion, including but not limited to cases where:

  • The request appears fraudulent, misleading, or raises security concerns;
  • The Client has previously engaged in abusive, non-compliant, or otherwise harmful behavior toward the driver, the vehicle, or the company’s reputation;
  • No suitable vehicle or driver is available at the requested time.

9.2 A refusal or cancellation under this clause shall apply solely to the transportation service and shall not affect any other confirmed activities or excursions booked with Island Cove Mauritius. The Client remains fully bound by the terms and conditions of their original activity reservation, including applicable cancellation policies and payment obligations.

9.3 Where possible, Island Cove Mauritius will provide the Client with a reason for refusal and offer reasonable alternatives. However, in urgent or high-risk cases (e.g., safety concerns or suspected fraud), no detailed justification is required.

10. Force Majeure

10.1 Island Cove Mauritius and its transportation partners shall not be held liable for any delay, disruption, or failure to perform services resulting from events beyond their reasonable control. Such events may include, but are not limited to, natural disasters such as cyclones, floods, or earthquakes; acts of war, terrorism, or civil unrest; labor disputes including strikes or lockouts; road closures or traffic blockages; fuel shortages; mechanical failures; public health emergencies or pandemics; or compliance with any applicable laws, regulations, or governmental directives or restrictions.

10.2 Where a Force Majeure Event affects service delivery, Island Cove Mauritius is relieved from its contractual obligations without incurring liability, penalties, or refund obligations – provided that the event genuinely prevented performance.

1.3 Clients will be notified of any such event as soon as reasonably practicable. Where feasible, Island Cove Mauritius will offer an alternative solution, subject to availability.

11. Third-Party Disclaimer

11.1 Island Cove Mauritius acts solely as an intermediary between the Client and third-party transportation providers. While we assist in facilitating the booking process, we do not own, operate, supervise, or manage any transport services directly. By booking, the Client acknowledges that the transport contract is between the Client and the third-party provider.

11.2 The transport service is provided by independent service providers under their own terms and conditions. Island Cove Mauritius does not accept liability for any injury, loss, damage, delay, or inconvenience resulting from any act or omission of the Driver, including failure to perform the service as scheduled.

11.3 Transportation services are not medical or emergency transport services and may not be suitable for Clients with serious health issues or urgent needs. Clients with accessibility requirements (e.g., wheelchair access) must inform Island Cove Mauritius in advance. Services are subject to availability and suitability of the vehicle.

11.4 Clients are advised to first address any issues with the driver at the time of occurrence. If satisfactory resolution is not possible, Island Cove Mauritius may provide support as a neutral facilitator. However, this does not create a legal obligation or make Island Cove Mauritius a party to the transport contract.

11.5 Clients acknowledge that transport providers operate under their own terms and conditions. By confirming a booking, the Client agrees to be bound by those terms, which may include separate rules regarding conduct, payment, liability, and cancellation.
